I had my follow up ultrasound yesterday for baby girl. She is still measuring right on track
. Her heart, brain, kidneys, and bladder all look good. We saw her left arm and hand which they couldn't see last time. The only concern is that the fluid around her is still a little low. It is just below what they consider "normal." He explained to me that 11.2 to 17.5 (I think it's measured in cm) are considered normal amounts of fluid and mine is at an 11. So, I'm just barely below that normal range. It's not a huge concern at this point but he is sending me to a specialist to see if they can figure out why it is low. He said that sending me to someone else is an ultra conservative approach, but he just wants to have someone that is trained in high risk pregnancies look at it and make sure that he is not missing something. I am pretty sure that at one point, Macy's fluid was at a 4 and I think even a 2, so that tells you how far we are from this being a severe situation; however, with Macy and Ava we knew why their fluid levels were off. With this one, we don't know what is causing it which kind of scares me. There has to be a reason, so I'm a little worried about what that reason is. My appointment with the perinatologist is Monday so we'll see what she says. I'm sure it is nothing and because it is borderline they will just want to watch it throughout the pregnancy (more ultrasounds! Yeah!) but we would still appreciate prayers that everything will be fine and that baby girl will continue to grow and thrive just like she is now.
In other more exciting news, we have decided on a name!! We are going to name her Aubrey James. We had Aubrey on our list of names for the twins, and I have loved it since then. Ben's middle name is James, so I like that we are giving her a family name and that James is kind of fun and edgy for a girl. Ben, Macy, and I love it and Ava is finally coming around. She named one of her stuffed animals Caroline, so now she is good with naming the baby Aubrey.
During the ultrasound yesterday, they took one 4-D picture. I think it is adorable, especially the way her hands are up around her face. And I swear she has Ben's mouth. : )
