Little Athletes

** I gave the blog a little update! I hope the readers of this blog (aka: our parents) appreciate the update because it took me two hours to figure out how to do it. I don't even like it that much but I don't have another two hours to kill trying to find another background. So we're sticking with this.  **

A couple of weeks ago, Ava and Macy had their first TOT performance. TOT is a program that teaches kids sports skills, teamwork, and a little bit of academics. This program is available at their school as an "extra curricular" activity. There are TOT programs for different sports but the one at A and M's school is for basketball. They were able to show off their skills at a half time performance during a Texas Legends basketball game (D-League basketball team here in Frisco). I have to say I was pretty impressed! They had several different skills that they did and the grand finale was continuous dribbling. Macy was hilarious because there was a huge screen over to one side that showed close ups of the kids. Macy had one eye on that screen almost the whole time. At first, I couldn't figure out what she was looking at then I realized that she was waiting for her close up. She did awesome with the dribbling though. They both did! Santa brought them little basketballs for Christmas so they have been practicing at home. Macy practices her dribbling at home all of the time and it really paid off! They have their big TOT performance in May. I can't wait to see what else they learn between now and then.

Macy is in the middle of this picture.

 Ava to the far left.

 Sitting down and dribbling.

Finally over their fear of big costumed animals.

Trying to Hula Hoop in the kids area.

Attempting to hula hoop together. In one hoop. Good luck with that.

They have also started playing soccer. These pictures are from their first soccer practice. They were supposed to have their first game on Saturday but it got rained out so I'll have to post next week about their first game. I am sure it will be hilarious!

Wedding Weekend #3

Ava and Macy were in their third wedding a couple of weekends ago. If you are keeping track, that  is 3 flower girl jobs in 7 months!  If anyone wants to come to our house to play dress up we have 6 beautiful "princess" dresses to choose from. It is such an honor that they were asked to be in our friend's and family member's weddings. It is always a hectic day but it always turns out to be great. I am so proud of my little professional flower girls.

This time there were six flower girls total. There were also twin boys that were ring bearers. I don't think the Bride knew what she was getting herself into when she asked all of these little ones to be in the wedding! : ) They all did a great job though. Every single one of them. The mommas of all of these girls were bridesmaids in the wedding so it was a really special experience for everyone.

I loved their sweet little "kissing balls" that they carried when walking down the aisle.

The beautiful bride. Andrea and I were sorority sisters and roommates in college. She is an event planner so of course the wedding and reception were perfect. It was a beautiful wedding with a really fun party afterward. Everything went off without a hitch!

Friends! Stephanie, Michelle, and me

Ava giving Andrea a high five before the first dance.

This is an amazing picture that her photographer took. Kris Allen (American Idol winner from a couple of years ago) is the groom's cousin so he sang their first dance song. He was sooo good! This picture is really neat for a lot of reasons, but my absolute favorite part is that in the background you can see all of the little flowers girls lined up around the edge of the dance floor watching the bride and groom. They were mesmerised. It was like they were watching a real life prince and princess dancing. So precious!

okay... this is like the worst picture ever but it was my attempt to get Ava and Macy to take a picture with a famous person. I asked Kris Allen if he would take a picture with my little girls. Of course, he said yes. I guess he leaned back and laughed or something before the picture took so it looks like a random head in the background. I really don't know what happened. Mom took the picture so I was watching the whole thing and didn't expect the picture to come out like this. Oh well! They met their first celebrity. Write it down in the baby book. : )

What an eventful and fun wedding weekend. It was so great to be a part of Andrea and Phillip's special day.  Of course, I have to say thanks to my helpers. There is absolutely no way I can do wedding weekends without helpers (especially when I am in the wedding too) so thanks to Mom, Dad, Jacqueline, and Craig for all of your help!
