2 Months Old and Other Happenings

Another month has gone by. Aubrey is 2 months old today. Time is flying by which makes me sad. She started smiling at 5 weeks and it still melts my heart every time she does it. There really isn’t anything better than those first baby smiles…. except for baby giggles. I can’t wait for that! She is cooing and will really focus on our faces when we talk to her and “talk” back to us. It’s the best. Her 2 month appointment with the pediatrician went well. She weighed 10lbs. 11oz. which is in the 50th percentile. She is in the 97th percentile for height!!! Holy moly! They said she is on track to be 5’11”. I don’t really know how they can tell that this early but I guess we’ll see.

She is eating every few hours during the day and is sleeping really well at night. She usually eats between 9 and 9:30pm and then goes down for the night. Most nights she wakes up around 3am to eat but we have had a few nights where she has slept until 6:30 or 7:00! Hoping those nights become more regular as it gets closer to time for me to start back to work. She is still nursing but we are supplementing with one formula bottle a day. It just makes life easier when we are on the go with soccer, gymnastics, birthday parties and everything else we have going on these days. We have a lady that is going to come to the house and keep her when I go back to work. She came yesterday for a few hours to do a “trial day.” I went to the spa so it wasn’t as hard to leave her as it will be when I go back to work! Here are some pics of our 2 month old. Sorry there are so many. I love them all and couldn’t decide which ones to post!

Aubrey had a busy second month of life. Gigi came to visit the first weekend in February. Ben went out of town and I wasn’t sure I was ready to handle all 3 by myself so I called in some reinforcement. Dad was going to come too but ended up getting a really bad stomach bug right before they were supposed to leave town. Thankfully mom didn’t get it and was able to come help me out. We took the girls to see The Wizard of Oz play at a Children's Theatre. Aubrey napped peacefully in her carrier the whole time. Here are some pictures of the girls with the characters.

The next weekend Jon, Emily, Presley, and Landon came to visit. We had so much fun hanging out with cousins! The kids played and played and Emily and I got a little shopping time in.

I love this picture! We will totally be able to blackmail Landon with this one day. He even accessorized with a purse and necklace! I guess that is what happens when you are surrounded by girls. Of course Macy wanted to dress up like Spiderman instead of a princess.

Aubrey celebrated her first Valentines Day by running errands with mommy, going to Ava and Macy’s Valentines party at school, going to soccer practice, then having a “romantic” dinner of Papa John’s pizza at home with the family. It was a busy but fun day for everyone!

In other news, Ava and Macy have started back to soccer and had their first game last weekend. 5 year old soccer is WAY more serious than 4 year old soccer! Wow! The coaches aren’t on the field with the girls anymore and most of the girls are really serious about the game. No more picking flowers on the field!! One funny story about the first game. There is another Ava on their team, but she hadn’t been to any practices so the girls didn’t realize that there was another Ava. She showed up at the first game and played during the first quarter with Macy while our Ava sat on the bench. Every time the coach would yell something to the other Ava, Macy would get totally confused and think he was talking to her because she is so used to people calling her Ava. She kind of looked like a chicken with her head cut off  because she didn’t know if he was wanting her to sit down and our Ava to go in or if he was accidentally calling her Ava instead of Macy. Ben and I totally knew what was going on but I’m sure the other parents thought she was nuts! By the third quarter when she went in again, she had figured it out and wasn’t so crazy. It was pretty funny but I just wanted to call a time out and go out there and explain to her that there was another Ava on the team and that he wasn’t talking to her!

Photo Shoot

I didn't want to post any of these pictures until I sent out Aubrey's birth announcements. Here are some newborn pictures that were taken in the hospital. Aubrey didn't wake up or cry for the first 3 days of her life until this photographer came in. She decided during the photo shoot to wake up, move around non stop, and cry. So... we only got a few that were decent.

This is the one I used for the announcement. Love those sweet cheeks.

Love it in black and white too. We had a big print made of this one to frame.

I set up my own photo shoot to try to get some good shots with all three girls. All three of them were actually pretty cooperative. I got some pretty good ones. Just wish I was a better photographer.
