Aubrey is 4 months!

Aubrey is 4 months old! At her four month doctor visit, she had to get a few shots and one (or maybe two?) oral vaccines. Yuck! She really doesn’t cry very often so it was so heartbreaking to hear her scream when she got her shots! She weighs 14 lbs 7 oz which is in the 64th percentile. She is still SO long. She is 26 inches – the 98th percentile!! The doctor was impressed at how strong she is! For Ben’s sake, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that she’ll be our athlete. She rolls from her back to her front and I have seen her roll the other way too but only a couple of times. She giggles (love!) and smiles all the time. Just in the last couple of days we have started stretching out her day time feedings to 3 1/2 or 4 hours and she is doing great with that. She is still sleeping at night. She sleeps through the night most of the time but will occasionally have a night where she wakes up hungry around 3am. Luckily, those aren’t too often. She had her first taste of rice cereal yesterday. I don't think she was too impressed. : ) We have switched to all formula for her. I was sad to give up nursing but it was just too difficult with me being back at work. Speaking of being back at work, things are still working out really well with the nanny, Mrs. Paulina. She is wonderful! She takes such good care of Aubrey and does lots of extras around the house that I don’t even ask her to do. She makes the beds and cleans up our breakfast dishes and has even had dinner ready for us a couple of times. She is so awesome! She usually shows up on Monday morning with some special treat she found for Aubrey over the weekend. And she made the tutu that Aubrey is wearing in the 4 month pictures below. She is such a blessing to us!

The Week In Review

We have had an eventful week so I thought it deserved it’s own blog post. Last Friday I took the day off and went with Ava and Macy on their field trip to Disney On Ice. It was a blast! It is fun to see them in their element interacting with friends and teachers at school (amazing how much better they behave at school!). The show was great. It had all of their favorite princesses and songs!

The pictures that I took of the show didn't turn out very good, but you can see Mickey in this one.

On Saturday, we went to a crawfish boil in our neighborhood. I was too busy with Aubrey to get any pictures but Ava and Macy had their first taste of crawfish! They will pretty much try any foods but I was a little surprised that they tasted it. I mean… it has eyeballs and legs!! They didn’t hate it but they didn’t love it either. They kept calling it lobster. : )

On Monday, Aubrey had her four month doctor visit. It went really well (except for the four shots!). I will post more details about that when I do her 4 month post. Here’s a sneak peek of her at the dr. visit. She’s getting so strong!

On Tuesday, we went to kindergarten round up and registered Ava and Macy for kindergarten! Wow! All it involved was dropping off paperwork but it was still pretty exciting. They will get to tour the school in May. I attempted to take a picture of them outside of the school but the ice cream truck drove by right as we were walking out of the school and then Macy proceeded to throw a fit because I wouldn’t let her get ice cream. Not exactly kindergarten behavior!!

The rest of the week was pretty low key for us girls, but Ben spent Wednesday at the Masters tournament. He got to go for “work.” It was a quick trip but he said it was awesome and something he can cross of the bucket list. He brought back really cute golf shirts for Ava and Macy. Macy wants to wear it every day and Ava doesn’t like it because it’s “boyish.” Actually, she says “boilish” but she means boyish. (It’s purple by the way but apparently shirts with collars are for boys.)

Yesterday we had soccer and last night we grilled out and enjoyed this awesome Spring weather with some friends. Today we are taking it easy after all of the excitement we have had! Getting ready for another busy work/school week ahead of us.

EASTER

We had a fabulous Easter weekend. On Friday, the girls had their Easter Egg Hunt at school and then we went to Rockwall to hang out with the Nalleys. Saturday we had a soccer game (Ava and Macy both scored a goal!) and egg decorating at home. Sunday morning we got up to see what the Easter bunny brought, went to church, went out for Easter brunch, and then relaxed at home for the rest of the afternoon. Here are some pics from our weekend.

You can't tell what she is doing in this picture but the Easter basket is filled with candy and goodies and the first thing Macy did was start eating the Easter Bunny's left over carrots!
