Kinder Wrap Up

Well, we made it! We made it through their first year of school. Kindergarten was a success. They loved it. They loved their teachers, loved their friends (new and old) and loved learning. I am SO thankful that they enjoy school. I know it won’t always be that way but for now it makes me happy. The last few weeks of school were busy with activities. Here are some of the fun things they did:

Field trip to Safety Town:
Safety Town happens to be really close to my school so I was able to leave work and meet them there. They learned about what to do in emergencies, how to call 911, and road/pedestrian safety. They got to drive these cool jeeps to practice what they learned.

Field Day:
I was so impressed by Bledsoe’s field day! They had lots of super fun games, all kinds of water games and activities, and a tug of war tournament. Macy’s class won the kinder tug of war trophy! What a fun day!

Dance party in the gym

An after field day snow cone treat!

End of the year party:
The end of the year party was outside with snow cones, cotton candy, a magician, bounce houses, and games. I wasn't able to go because my school had its end of the year party at the same time, but here are some pics that a friend sent me.

Last day
Each day of the last week of school had a theme or special activity. Here they are on the last day which was Sport Day. A little bit of Texas and a little bit of Arkansas. : )

Macy got a special award at the assembly on the last day of school. At the end of each 9 weeks, the teacher picks two students to get the “All Star Kindergartner Award.”  The teachers said this award was for students that had shown the character traits that they had learned about all year long. We were SO proud of Macy for getting this award.

I am in love with this card that Ava made her teacher. Mrs. Khan always wore Toms and Ava wears hers a lot too so she drew matching Toms on them.

Their teachers each gave awards out in class. Ava got the "fabulous friend" award and Macy got the "bringing sunshine into our class" award. (Wondering where this all-star, sunshine spreading little girl is at home?!?!)

We are so thankful for an amazing school and teachers that truly care about our girls. They learned so much this year. They are reading and doing math problems and writing stories. Most importantly, they gained independence and confidence even when apart from each other which is all I really wanted out of this school year. Next year we will actually be moving to a new school, because they are building one in our neighborhood. We are sad to leave Bledsoe but I have a feeling that our new school, Hosp, will be just a great. The girls are already excited about being first graders, but for now we are going to relax and enjoy the sweet summertime.
